Andhra Pradesh to get a Major Port Soon
The Ministry of Shipping, Government of India will be setting up a new Major Port in Andhra Pradesh. India currently has 13 major ports which come under direct control of the Ministry of Shipping, with a port at Andaman & Nicobar Islands being the latest to be notified as a Major port. Currently the state of Andhra Pradesh has one Major Port at Vishakhapatnam and multiple minor ports. The state government has identified and proposed two locations for this port. The Ministry of Shipping will be shortly sending its technical team to access the technical aspects of the proposed two locations. The names of the locations have not been divulged yet.
